KABUL, Afghanistan (AP) — The Taliban denied a report in the Afghan press that the insurgent group’s leader had been killed in neighboring Pakistan, saying Monday that Mullah Mohammad Omar is alive and in Afghanistan.

(THE SUN) — OSAMA Bin Laden lived unchallenged in a SECOND safe house in Pakistan, it emerged yesterday.

The terror chief spent 2½ years in the quiet hill village before moving in 2005 to the compound where he was killed.

(MAIL ONLINE) — /SNIP/ The CIA and Pakistan’s spy agency, known by the acronym ISI, have worked uneasily together in the past on counter-terrorism, but the unilateral U.S. raid – done without Pakistan’s advance knowledge – has exposed the deep mistrust that scars a complicated if vital partnership for both nations.

One Pakistan source today condemned U.S. claims that the compound was al-Qaeda’s ‘active control and command centre’ as ‘bull****’.

CIA Contractor Raymond Davis to Be Freed in Pakistan | ABC News Comments Off

(ABC NEWS) — Raymond Davis, a CIA contractor held in Pakistan after a deadly shooting incident in January, was freed today, Pakistani officials and Davis’ lawyer said.

Davis was released from detention after around $700,000 was paid to the families of the two men allegedly shot and killed by Davis, Davis’ lawyer, Zahid Hussain, told ABC News.

NATO official: Bin Laden, deputy hiding in northwest Pakistan Comments Off

Well, isn’t that just great? Now, Obama has a reason to bomb NW Pakistan. Sheesh. — PID

Kabul, Afghanistan (CNN) — Osama bin Laden and his deputy Ayman al-Zawahiri are believed to be hiding close to each other in houses in northwest Pakistan, but are not together, a senior NATO official said.

“Nobody in al Qaeda is living in a cave,” said the official, who declined to be named because of the sensitivity of the intelligence matters involved.
