(COURTHOUSE NEWS SERVICE) — A federal magistrate judge in San Francisco ordered the CIA to produce specific records and testimony about the human experiments the government allegedly conducted on thousands of soldiers from 1950 through 1975.
Three veterans groups and six individual veterans sued the CIA and other government agencies, claiming they used about 7,800 soldiers as human guinea pigs to research biological, chemical and psychological weapons.

Project Blue Beam takes another step closer to reality. — PID
(WIRED.COM) — It’s one of those grandiose ideas that gets bandied about by Pentagon scientists and pops up in the press every few years. The “Face of Allah” weapon would beam a massive, lifelike hologram over a battlefield, projecting the image of some deity “to incite fear in soldiers on a battlefield,” according to one researcher.
We last checked in on holographic weapons research two years ago, when the University of New Hampshire was working on some Pentagon-funded projects. Since then, another university team has turned holograms into a reality — but not as tools of war. Not yet, at least.

(MAIL ONLINE) — They put on their headphones, drape a hood over their head and drift off into the world of ‘digital highs’.
Videos posted on YouTube show a young girl freaking out and leaping up in fear, a teenager shaking violently and a young boy in extreme distress.
This is the world of ‘i-Dosing’, the new craze sweeping the internet in which teenagers used so-called ‘digital drugs’ to change their brains in the same way as real-life narcotics.

(THE WEEK) — The network admits it uses “behavior placement” on popular shows to encourage healthy, eco-friendly habits — and sell ads.
via NBC’s ‘cynical’ mind-control games – The Week.
PID COMMENT: This is nothing new. Teen films have been programming viewers for decades, encouraging promiscuity, drug use, hatred toward authority (particularly parents), and other anti-social behaviors. Suddenly, people notice because NBC wants soccer moms to recycle? Sheesh.
