Well, if you have, and you’ve been itching to contribute to the news and discussions here at PID, then it’s time you signed up as a PID Author!

What does it mean to be an author? As an author, you have access to the WordPress Dashboard, and you can use the WordPress interface to post relevant news articles to our feed and kick-off a comment frenzy! How, you ask? It’s easy!

Step 1: See the dark gray bar at the top of the main page? To the right, you’ll see Register and Log In. Click the ‘Register’ link to fill in the information. Be sure to include your real name and contact email. You may choose a username, of course.

Step 2: I’ll receive an automated email about your registration.

Step 3: I will send you an email to verify your email address.

Step 4: Once your email address is verified, I will upgrade your member status to ‘author’. This will let you post articles.

RULES:

1. Remember that the articles you’re linking to are copyrighted by someone else. Be considerate, please. WordPress will automatically provide a link to the article, but you should never quote more than two or three sentences from the original.

2.Be sure to follow this format:

(ORIGINAL OWNER, eg. AP, AFP, NEW YORK POST) — Quote from original article. This should be no more than two or three sentences.

If you use the WordPress bookmarklet, you will see that WordPress automatically inserts a link to the original below your quoted text. I love the bookmarklet. You can find it by clicking on ‘Tools’ in the dashboard column to the left.
