Korea: Huge Turnout for Former President’s Funeral
Roh Moo-hyun had served as President of Korea from 2003 until last year. About one month ago, a scandal broke regarding Roh’s involvement in a multi-million dollar corruption case. Roh, who spent his career fighting corruption, was found at the base of a cliff near his rural home. An aide claims that Roh left a suicide note–typed on a computer screen. According to AP, the note read:
I’m indebted to too many people. Too many people are suffering because of me,” Roh wrote in the note left on his computer. “Don’t be sorry; don’t blame anybody. It’s destiny.”
